This is not one for the purist (or purest) gamers and probably not one to play at LoB events as it takes up a lot of room for a two player game... However, there seems to be a strange correlation between gamers and American Football fans. I'm not going to try to explain it but it got me thinking: why not combine the two and start a Blood Bowl league? For those who don't know it Blood Bowl is an old Gamesworkshop board-based game: essentially a more ruthless version of American Football set in the fantasy Warhammer World. I'm going to pick up a second hand copy of the base game and will be happy to scan the rules and team rosters and forward them around to everyone involved - however, we may decide that we want more than one set so that more than one game can take place at a time. I'm planning on buying the 1996 3rd edition but if anyone has a particular preference for an earlier version I'm open to persuasion. Anyone wanting to participate would need to put a team together: You can still buy miniatures from the GW website but they're pretty expensive - eBay and Amazon have loads of second hand stuff at wildly varying prices so you might well find a bargain. Either way, it'll probably cost between £25 - £35 for a team. I realise this isn't everyone's cup of tea and may be many people's cup of hemlock but if you're interested give me a shout and I'll start making plans. (Obviously if you're already a fan and already have a team (and some expertise) so much the better.) Adam

3rd Edition is good. Later they nerfed all the blocking and damage which isn't a solution to the problem of the Official Blood Bowl Ruling. The problem is you are left with 4 guys standing for the next match but your next opponent gets the reward for facing your full team as only your full team rating is used for calculating various stuff - that is still unfair no matter how much you nerf the blocking damage. Anyways, if there's an agreeable setting I I have a copy somewhere which I may (or may not) be able to procure to join the fray. I will probably want to go for an orc team anyway. Also, it's not the space at LOB that is the matter, BB games are very long until everyone warms up. And I always like to try new games at the club. So it's best some other time some other place.

The last edition i played was the 2nd and i had started to collect some additional figures but when my friend moved abroad i knew no one who played it or liked it so still got some of the metal figures, somewhere, most painted but not many.
